Our Story
Sheeja & Sudesh
We started out as friends — two IITians who enjoyed working together, sharing ideas, and discovering that our ways of thinking aligned more than we expected. Over time, that connection grew into a partnership, and eventually, a life we chose together.
Our journey took us to the US, where we continued our studies in our own worlds: Sudesh went to film school, and Sheeja pursued her post-doctoral research with fellowship from American Heart Association. After almost a decade of living the American way, we returned to India — Sudesh joined IIT as faculty, and Sheeja took up lesser demanding academic assignments than full-time research so that she could spend time with our son and pursue her gardening and music. However our discussions still revolved around starting something that is not limited or bound by our jobs and its responsibilities.
Years later, when our son moved to NID …. the home felt quieter and in one of our regular evening conversations, a thought surfaced — simple at first, but meaningful.
That thought became KAMERAKAREN. A space where our experiences, interests, and shared curiosity came together. Where technology and creativity meet. Where we make stories with purpose, craft, and a sense of why they matter.
